Meshan Mani, East Fort

On the eastern side of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, installed in 1833 during the reign of Swathi Thirunal, is the Meshan Mani (clock). It has on its dial, a man’s face with two goats on either side. Crafted from mahogany by an artisan called Kulathooran, every time the clock completes an hour, the man opens his mouth and the goats hit his cheeks.

We would like to thank you again for the stunning ideas you offered Jesse when preparing a post-graduate research
and also, most importantly, with regard to providing many of
the ideas in one blog post. In case we had been aware of your website a year ago, we might have been rescued from the useless measures we were participating in. Thank you very much.
