Pattumala near Peermede

A natural wonder draped in silk, draws up an image that seems only possible in one’s imagination. But Pattumala breathes life into this fantasy. Once you reach these silken verdant hills at Peermede in Idukki, you understand why the name was chosen. Tall misty peaks, minuscule rivulets randomly scattered over its surface and endlessly stretching plantations, encompass some of the visuals of this magnificent site. Walks here, especially at dawn, are truly mesmerizing due to the sheer volume and freshness of the unadulterated air here. Make your way to the very top and you can take some time off at the pilgrim centre made entirely of granite, the VelankanniMatha Church. There are flower gardens and obscure trails too, always promising a new adventure on every visit.
