Adoor Gajamela

Enthusiasts of the majestic pachyderms are treated to a spectacular display of these magnificent creatures at the heart of Kerala during the Adoor Gajamela. This grand event serves as the focal point of the ten-day annual celebration hosted at the Parthasarathy Temple in Adoor. Massive crowds gather to witness the procession of nine mighty tuskers, adorned with a rich array of special decorations. The temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, becomes a hub for cultural programs throughout the festival, establishing it as one of the most frequented sites in the entire Pathanamthitta district.
