Kottayi – the birth place of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar

Kottayi village is the native place of the Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, the doyen of Carnatic music. The place hosts the annual Chembai Parthasarathy Ekadasi Music festival in memory of the great singer in February/March. Renowned singers perform music concerts during the festival.
